Joe Turley, CEO

Joe Turley founded Reflective Measurement Systems Ltd. in 2013. Joe is an experienced businessman and entrepreneur who has owned and managed a variety of businesses in different industry sectors.

Following a management buyout in 1988, he founded and managed a semi-plastics distribution business, G.B.M Plastics Ltd. He also founded New Plast Ltd., a plastic compound manufacturing and recycling business which he subsequently sold. Joe was President and a board member of the European Plastics Distributors Association (EPDA). Joe has worked in the financial services industry, researching the mortgage brokering industry for Arachas Corporate Brokers, one of Ireland’s largest independent Insurance brokers.

In 2005, Joe became Dealer Principal and Managing Director of Rathdown Motors Ltd. which, until 2011, was a large motor retail business and main franchise dealer for Honda, Hyundai, Peugeot and Jeep Chrysler.

Prior to setting up Reflective Measurement Systems, Joe also worked as a business consultant for start-ups prepared business plans, feasibility studies for technology transfers from 3rd level educational institutes & universities.

He is focused on innovation and business development and is an experienced team builder.

Joe has a Certificate and Diploma in Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland and held a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice (QFA).

James Mahon, CTO

James Mahon, CTO

James Mahon has over 25 years of experience as a machine vision engineer and considerable experience in developing technologies from start-ups to commercialization.

Following a period of postgraduate research at Trinity College, Dublin and at Trinity’s Vision and Sensor Research Unit, he co-founded MV Technology (MVT) where he developed Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) machines for manufacturers of printed circuit boards. He held the position of Technical Director at MVT until the company was acquired by Agilent Technologies in 2001. He subsequently held the position of Chief Technical Officer at Agilent’s Irish Imaging Operation. He worked as Principal Engineer at Koh Young Europe Ltd., developing computer vision algorithms for the AOI industry. More recently, he has worked on developing underwater cameras and underwater imaging systems at Linear Vision Systems.

James has a degree in engineering from Trinity College, Dublin. He is a member of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland.

Reflective Measurement Systems has assembled a highly experienced team to develop the RetroTek technology. Between them, they have decades of experience in machine vision, optical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and software development.
