dual-line mobile retroreflectometers

Dual Line Mobile Retroreflectometers like the RetroTek-M are needed to measure the RL values and absence / presence of road markings. Dual Line retroreflectometer means that road markings on both sides of the car can be measured at the same time.

Successful completion of Horizon2020 Project Dualine

Reflective Measurement Systems are proud to announce the successful completion of their Horizon2020 project Dualine in July 2017. The funding for the DuaLine project was granted under the Horizon2020 Topic: Small business innovation research for Transport, IT-1-2015-1. “Specific challenge: The European transport sector must have the capacity to deliver the best products and services, [...]

RMS seeks partners for SRAV, Safe Roads for Autonomous Vehicles EU project

Certified measurement of Road Marking visibility to predict the Safe operation of ADAS & Autonomous vehicles. Are roads in Europe ready for the safe operation of autonomous vehicles? We propose to complete a pilot study on European roads & measure if existing road markings are adequate for the vision systems currently used in autonomous [...]

Demonstration of RetroTek-M

This video demonstrates how to use the RetroTek-M retroreflectometer. Let Joe Turley of Reflective Measurement Systems (RMS) the developers of the RetroTek system guide you through the entire process. The main points covered in the video include: 1. Attaching the RetroTek-M front sensor to the front of any vehicle with universal H brackets provided by [...]

Fast evaluation of road assets

A recent project in Ireland demonstrates how road asset performance demarcation surveys – and their evaluation – can be made more efficient In 2016, Northern Road Markings (NRM),based in Northern Ireland, successfully completed a mobile retroreflectivity survey of the primary and secondary road infrastructure in Ireland, having won a Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) tender. As [...]

RetroTek-MU a dynamic road marking / striping retroreflectometer evaluated to ASTM E 1710

RetroTek-MU (USA Version) a dynamic road marking/ striping retroreflectometer with full lane width capability evaluated to ASTM  E 1710. StrAus-Zert, the testing, monitoring and certification association for road-owners recently evaluated the RetroTek-MU (USA Version) as a suitable Dynamic Pavement Retroreflectometer for measuring the coefficient of retroreflected luminance RL of road markings/striping according to ASTM E 1710. [...]

Future-proofing road markings

With the advent of autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles, efficiently surveying and maintaining the quality of road markings has never been more important when it comes to safety. Autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles are now being driven and tested on our roads. Improving road safety is a key factor in these developments. Today’s production cars already [...]

Road Markings vital for autonomous vehicles

It is estimated that by 2025 at least half of the vehicles on Europe's roads will have some ability to "read" the road ahead. These vehicles will not work if the road markings and lines upon which they rely are not maintained to a high standard. This will place additional pressures on governments and road [...]
